David and Rachael Rowley
We are a 40-something couple who love our family and the blessings God has given us, including the opportunity to own and operate this beautiful piece of paradise we call Pecan Park.
David was born into a family-owned RV park operation and began work in the business by cleaning toilets at age 14. When needed, he still cleans the toilets to this day. Rachael married into the family business in 2005. We are both native Austinites. We moved to San Marcos in 2006 after acquiring Pecan Park, our San Marcos campground. Rachael is an alumnus of Texas State University, with a BA in Accounting. We love this town and our community. There are many things to do in the area. San Marcos is like the hub of a wagon wheel, centrally located to many things to do and see.
We have two beautiful boys, Jason, age 10, and Jeremy, age 8. Our boys have grown to love this business from a very early age. One of their favorite things to do is to help out at the park, whether it is riding the tractor or golf cart with their daddy, or helping check people in at our office.
We are beyond blessed to be able to serve all we come in contact with!
From China Spring, TX. Graduated high school in 2008. Moved to Nothern Texas to find what the world had to offer. Best friend wanted companion while going to college. Came to San Marcos in 2011 to go to Texas State University.
Found easy, yet boring, jobs in retail and hotel work. Wanted something more challenging. Had son, Elijah, in 2014, encouraging desire for better opportunities. Found a love for sightseeing in all the small town feeling cities around like Gruene, Boerne and Wimberley. Found Pecan Park in 2015 and have loved meeting new people every week.
Nature lover from Poughkeepsie, New York! Moved in 2003 for a change of pace and relaxation, including the river, rock climbing, and kayaking. Met my lovely wife while working as a skydiving instructor and technician. Changed pace again to slow down and enjoy married life, including snorkeling, and bike tours. We take frequent trips to Magnolia for the Renaissance Festival, and Wolf Creek Lodge in Colorado for dog sledding and snowboarding. Moved to the park to work and enjoy atmosphere, nature, trees, birds and river! The fact that home is so close to my daughter is all the more enjoyable!
My husband, Mark, and I came to Texas from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in June 2011. Mark wanted to come to Texas ever since we met. He preferred Texas weather to Pennsylvania weather.
I had trouble adjusting at first, until I started working at Pecan Park Riverside RV in the yard. After about a year, I started working in housekeeping and found that I enjoy that kind of work. We set out on our own adventure, as we have no family in Texas. During our adventure, we met many wonderful people. The staff I work with are like my family.
The San Marcos area has a lot to offer; you just have to know where to look. I like the River Walk in San Antonio. It is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I also like visiting the town of Gruene because of Gruene Hall. I love music and it is everywhere along the I-35 corridor. Even Austin has much to offer, especially where music is concerned.
I like Pecan Park RV Park because it’s smaller and quiet, and when the river is flowing normally, it’s beautiful.
I have been full-timing since March of 2013 and had visited family at Pecan Park. I loved the park, the trees, and the river so much that I decided to just move here. Right away I started working in the office, taking reservations, and I love it. I get to meet new people everyday.

Courtesy patrol, Activities
After enjoying traveling for 24 years in the military, we became full-time RV enthusiasts, which we have enjoyed for almost 10 years now. We came to Pecan Park in January 2012 to get out of the cold of North Texas, only planning to stay a month or so. We fell in love with the park and the area, and now work for the park as courtesy patrol and activities. Our hobbies are genealogy, crafts, and the traveling lifestyle. We have six children (two work for the park, too!), 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
