In addition to the canoeing, kayaking, tubing, snorkeling and swimming near the campground, you’ll also enjoy easy access to:

New Braunfels & Gruene

Take a short 20 mile drive to the New Braunfels and Gruene area to enjoy the historic heart of the Texas Hill Country. Both towns are steeped in 19th century charm while also offering a wide array of great activities and attractions to explore. Visit the oldest dancehall in Texas – Gruene Hall.

1 ½ hours north of Pecan Park is Georgetown, another haven of attractions and activities to enjoy. Explore Inner Space Caverns, gardens, museums and much more!

The Capital City of Texas is only 30 miles to the north of Pecan Park. Austin is considered the Live Music Capital of Texas, with a wide array of venues that provide a broad spectrum of musical styles to enjoy. Beyond the music, Austin is also the home of the University of Texas, dining that ranges from four-star restaurants to down-home barbecue joints, world-class shopping, the National Wildflower Research Center, the Texas State History Museum & IMAX® Theater, exciting events and so much more!

San Antonio

San Antonio is only 50 miles south of the campground. The eighth largest city in the United States, San Antonio retains a true sense of history and tradition and blends in modern features. See the Institute of Texan Cultures, The Alamo and the entertaining River Walk. The city has always been a crossroads of the sounds and flavors of Native Americans, Old Mexico, Germans, the Wild West, African-Americans and the Deep South.
