Welcome, Yall! My name's Jerry P. Cann, your friendly squirrel buddy who makes his home right here at Pecan Park Campground, a Texas Camping facility like no other!

Folks, I've been "camping" my whole life, so please believe me when I tell you that Pecan Park offers a scenic, peaceful location of 19 acres along the San Marcos River, where you'll find me and my fuzzy & feathered friends scrambling around the grove of native pecan trees at the park. Y'all are invited to treat yourself to a relaxing getaway in nature's beauty. While here, you will enjoy:

A Gorgeous, Natural San Marcos River Setting!

The San Marcos River is a wonder only nature can provide. It starts from a crystal clear underground spring. The abundant foliage along the river's edge gives the feeling of being in a jungle (or so I heard from a South American menakin bird on vacation up here at the park). There are many native wild creatures, fish, and birds that call this area home.

What brought me to Pecan Park (and has kept me here since) is that the campground is set in a large grove of green pecan trees along the river (it's Pecan Paradise!). When you stay here, you'll be immersed in a lush, quiet atmosphere. The mild winters in San Marcos make it a prime destination for "Snowbirds" and other "Winter Texans". Local humidity is less than that of the coastal cities and, averaging only 30 inches of precipitation per year, there is no real "rainy season."

Activities Abound in and around the San Marcos River!

Squirrels are active by nature and at Pecan Park you can be as active or relaxed as you like!

ON THE SAN MARCOS RIVER Fishing Drop in a line and see if you can reel in a smallmouth black bass, largemouth brown bass, catfish and perch! Floating Tubes, canoes & kayaks available for rent from TG Canoe Livery right next door. The San Marcos River is the home of the Texas Water Safari, "The World's Toughest Canoe Race." Tubes are also available for rent from the Lion's Club of San Marcos. Swimming
